Miasma and Angler


In the past week, we primarily focused on level layout and modeling. Our group sat down with a large sheet of paper split into sections honing in on what exactly needs to be put into each level for our game demo. Our goal is to establish combat and movement in the first stage and break those patterns in the second and third stage along with our boss fight. We also have a goal as a group to upload twice a week on our Twitter account showing progress and screenshots.

Candle Knight’s animations have been tightened up including death, throws, grab, and uppercut.

Miasma, the protector of the library, is modeled who will attack the player when they snoop through the books with their hidden long hand disguised as a hoodie. Along with Miasma, the first enemy to show a pattern break with health pickups, Angler. Scissors, an enemy designed to hurt Candle Knight’s health and light meters, is currently being rigged.

Dialogue is currently being coded into the game allowing the player to talk to characters throughout the game. One important character that dialogue will be crucial for is our tutorial fairy, Twinkle Twinkle. She will help guide the player through the first level using magic trails to find the checkpoints.
